My design path began in High School when I took a 3D modeling class for an architecture program. I also have a passion for our environment and sustainable design, which is why I chose to study architecture in the Environmental Design Program here at CU Boulder. I like taking a simple, modernist approach to my designs, however, I also believe that the strength of the architecture  is seen in the structure, while the art of architecture is seen in the surrounding culture. The 'culture' can be rooted in a lot of things like the environment, dancing, storytelling and anything else that might influence the design of a space. A good example is a project I did for the Nisqually Tribe. I designed a culture center with the intentions of creating a place where they could preserve their culture and way of life, while still enjoying the pleasures of contemporary life.

Ludwig Mies van der Rohe was a famous architect of the 20th century. He is most well known for his phrase ‘Less is more”, which I have adopted in my designs. I believe that a simple design shows strength and more respect for its surrounding environment.
