It is interesting to see how the value of art goes down as soon as it is digitized. You would think that an art piece that sold for $58.4 million would have a similar value to a digital version. Digital art allows us to tweak the finest of details whether it is lighting, exposure or texture. Most people see status in wealth, the same goes for art and digital art. I think that, overtime, wealthy individuals will realize the value behind digital art and invest a huge amount of money into it. Recently we have seen this interest grow with the rise of NFTs. The most expensive NFT sold for $69 million, it was called The First 5,000 Days. The creator, Mike Winkelmann (Beeple), started working on the collage in May 2007, posting art pieces continuously every single day for 13 years. One of the first-ever NFTs (Quantum) was created by Kevin McCoy and sold for $1.4 million.
